Our Conductor

Dr. Farrell Coy moved to Buena Vista after having completed a 40+ year career in music education, the last 31 at Shepherd College in West Virginia. In addition to his work as a composition, music theory, woodwinds and jazz ensemble teacher/director, Dr. Coy served as the Music Department Chairman and the Chair of the Humanities Division while at Shepherd College. He has also maintained an active career as a performer in both classical and jazz styles. His primary instruments are the woodwinds.
Dr. Coy performs locally as a member of the jazz ensenble "Little Big Band " of Woodland Park.
He also is President of the Board of Directors of the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity, a member of the Arkansas Valley Car Club, Buena Vista Optimist Club, and the Buena Vista Harmonizers.

Our Concertmistress

Our current and enduring concertmistress of the Alpine Orchestra, and a former member of the Amarillo Symphony, Teclia Cunningham has worked as a rural mail carrier in Buena Vista for the past 16 years. She teaches private students in violin and piano.
Teclia can be heard performing locally at weddings and parties in the Alpine Ensemble along with fellow orchestra members Cheryl Tischer and Vailia Davidson.
