Dr. Coy became our conductor in the Spring of 1999. He was a college Professor and Dean before retiring to Buena Vista. He is currently the vice president of the Optimists and the co-chair for the local Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Congregational Church, and is a member of the B.V. Harmonizers and the B.V. Antique Car Club. He plays oboe and woodwinds and participates in various jazz and swing bands in the area. In addition to directing, Farrell has served on the Scholarship Committee and helps out whenever advice is needed in the orchestra. He has a BA from the University of Northern Colorado, an MA from the University of Northern Colorado, an MM from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
