The Alpine Orchestra is searching for a musically knowledgeable individual who understands the nature of community organizations to serve as conductor. Duties to include but not limited to, weekly rehearsal (night can be negotiable, currently set for Thursday nights at 7PM); concert music selection; currently two performance series a year, Fall and Spring; and duties consistent with leading a group. An interview about the concerts will be rebroadcast on K C M E radio between 6 & 7 p m today, the 21st. 88.7 FM in Colorado Springs and Pueblo....89.5 in Buena Vista and Salida. Thought you would like to know so you could listen in.
Nearly concert time
There is just one more rehearsal before the concerts on April 24, the usual time and place, Mt. View C of C. We will go through the entire concert, without stopping if possible.

Dress: White over black ("informal" dress) no miniskirts or shorts. See if you can cough up some black shoes as opposed to white sneakers or flip flops. Dave would like the men to wear black bow ties, but that is still under discussion.

ALPINE ORCHESTRA SPRING CONCERTS
The Alpine Orchestra spring concerts will be held the 4th weekend in
April: Friday the 25th, 7:30 p m, at Leadville's Annunciation Church;
Saturday the 26th, 7:30 pm, at the Salida Steamplant; then a matinee on
Sunday the 27th, 3 p m, at the Buena Vista Clearview Community Church,

Forever", Grofe's "On the Trail", a tribute to Henry Mancini, a montage
of Western movie themes and an
Alpine brass quintet selection, "Vuelta del Fuego".
The Alpine orchestra is a 40 piece volunteer symphony in its 23rd
consecutive season with members from throughout the upper Arkansas valley.

Following and attached is information about the Colorado Scottish Fiddle
Competition. We are trying to get the information out before school lets out
so the kids can have the summer to prepare the music.
Event: 2013 Colorado Scottish Fiddle (Violin) Competition for kids grades
3rd through 12th in four categories
Date: Saturday, October 5, 2013
Time: 1:00 to 5:00, performance times will have to be scheduled. Students
will perform for a judge.
