The Alpine Orchestra is pleased to announce this year's Fall concert series  "A Salute to Veterans" will be held November 4th, 5th and 6th.  A special salute to those who have served America in the military over the years, the orchestra invites veterans, families and friends to come and be honored by way of this musical salute featuring guest artist tenor Sergeant Mario Garcia of Washington, DC and the orchestra.

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Mario Garcia, a native of Brownsville, Texas, joined The Soldiers Chorus of the United States Army Field Band in 2003.  He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kentucky and completed both his Master and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he met his bride, Betsy, also a member of the Soldiers Chorus.  As members of the Army Field Band, they have traveled throughout the United States, showcasing the excellence and professionalism of today’s Army to the American people.
SFC Garcia studied with Dr. Robert Harrison and the late Dr. Barbara Doscher.  He has also received instruction from Martin Isepp of the Glyndebourne Opera, John Redd O.B.E. of the Doly Carte Opera, Dalton Baldwin and Sherrill Mllnes.  SFC Garcica has performed numerous opera and musical theater roles including, Camille in “The Merry Widow,” with the Ohio Light Opera, Tamino in “The Magic Flute,” Ferrado in “Cosi Fan Tutte,” and Bobby in “Company.”  He has also appeared as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Nashville Symphony.
In his free time, SFC Garcia is an amateur triathlete, having completed an Ironman, enjoys golfing and watching the Boston Red Sox.  He and his wife, Betsy, are proud “fur” parents of a lovely Shih Tzu named Oscar.

Please come join us for this fun concert honoring all those that have served our country.
